Captured during sunrise and across the tracks, The Bartonsville Covered Bridge was a wooden covered bridge in the village of Bartonsville, in Rockingham, Vermont, United States. Built in 1870 by Sanford Granger, the bridge was a lattice truss style with a 151 foot span across the Williams River. Unfortunately this amazing bridge was lost to hurricane Irene on Aug. 28th 2011 but it has since been rebuilt.
Komo mai (Welcome) Traveler, Percussionist, History buff, and Photographer. Photography from The Beautiful Lehigh Valley Pa. to the Amazingly Beautiful Hawaiian Islands.. I have found over these past 35+ years, that photography, can sometimes be over complicated as a means to confuse the layman or empower the pro. Therefore I tend to keep things simple. Photography to me is simply a way to capture the moment in a way that pleases thine eyes and exude a mood or feeling. I hope you like what I see and create with my vision. Here on this site, I have mixed in some of my older film shots as well as the more current digital captures. I do not use Artificial Intelligence. Many thanks for your interest in my work, DJ Just...

Niice capture of the bridge, is this the old bridge or the rebuilt version. How is the foliage, planning a trip to get some good captures.
DJ Florek replied:
Thanks Barbara, This is the original bridge. Captured 8 months before it was destroyed. As far as the color, I don't know because this is a few hundred miles north of us. I do think the color is almost at peak at this time and it should be good this year. Thanks again...
