Artist's Description
Bethlehem Northampton county Pa. USA. This large stone structure is known as The Tannery. It was built in 1761 and is located along the Monocacy creek in historic Bethlehem. The small log and stone building to the right is known as Springhouse and is a reconstructed building. The Tannery, a historic tannery building constructed by the colonial Moravians, is a limestone building that is part of the Bethlehem Colonial Industrial Quarter and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Next, Set to become an international World Heritage site. UNESCO listing for the Moravian Church Settlements. 35mm Film scan. Original exposure - 10/17/1992
